INCOSE UK Group Chairman's meeting feedback and actions

Feedback

Simon Wright attended the meeting on 9 April The SSE Group is generally seen as active and organised, holding regular meetings, producing minutes/notes of meetings, producing outputs. However it had been difficult to contact the group or to know who to contact.

Actions

  • Sort out Chairman, Secretary and Point of Contact for the group
  • Sort out if we are an Interest Group or a Working Group
  • Sort out web page with information about the group. Its six years since it was issued and not reviewed since.
  • There is a new INCOSE UK logo with additional logos for working groups. This is to identify the source of documents and other material.

Results

  • Iain Cardow: Chairman and Coordinator
  • John Davies: Secretary and general point-of-contact
  • Secretary will obtain and manage use of logo
  • We are both a Working Group and an Interest group
    • the Working Group - meets every two months, carries out work, produces outputs
    • the Interest Group - consists of the people who have joined via the web site and have an interest in SSE, the work being done, and may occasionally attend meetings fi their work schedule allows.
  • Web Page: SW had looked at it and felt it was reasonable. JD will review and propose changes if needed.
  • Need to inform INCOSE UK etc.

Services, MBSE and Architectures

  • SW has contacted the chairman of the MBSE group with a view of using MBSE for Service Systems Engineering and understanding the issues.
  • the amount of work that can be done in time for submission an abstract to cover such work has been produced and submitted for ASEC09, however the work will not have sufficient maturity in time for submission,, so abstract will be with withdrawn. It is likely work could be better covered in a workshop.
  • initial work has looked at drawing stakeholder diagrams using SysML constructs.
  • Service Definition Map being used as entry for an Architecture Framework for Services.

Date of next meeting

The is dependent on when chair of the MBSE chairman is available
